Scholarship Program

RockyMountain Orthopaedic Associates Collegiate Cycling Scholarship

Thanks to Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates P.C., we are now able to offer athletic scholarships to some of the club’s most exceptional individuals. Three Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates Collegiate Cycling Scholarships will be awarded each year to student athletes who excel in academics, community patronage and cycling. This is truly a unique and significant step to allow for the proliferation of the cycling club by not only providing much needed financial aid to impassioned athletes, but also by bringing added prestige to one of the nation’s most respected and recognized cycling clubs.

Applications due by October 8th, 2008

Description: The RockyMountain Orthopaedic Associates Collegiate Cycling Scholarship provides direct scholarship support to selected members of the Mesa State College Cycling Team. The goal of the fund is to lighten the financial burden on collegiate cyclists studying at Mesa State College and provide the means for gifted individuals to excel in this competitive avenue of athleticism. All are welcome to apply, respecting the criteria outlined in this application. Three scholarships in the amount of $1000 each will be awarded and distributed as $500 per semester.

Background: In the summer of 2005, Ryan Edwards had the ambition of creating a scholarship program to support athletes of the Mesa State Cycling Team. He and the coaching staff of the team approached Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates, P.C., of Grand Junction, CO which became the sole supporter of the program and generously provided all the necessary funding. Ryan worked to create such a fund with the hope that it would help students offset the high cost of education, allow students further financial freedom while training and racing, and to raise awareness of Mesa State College Cycling and collegiate cycling in general. Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates (RMOA) is committed to providing superior care for patients with bone, joint and muscular injuries and agreed to participate because these scholarship funds promote excellence in educational and athletic goals.
